What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards and Maisie Jane's gift cards.

Can I change or cancel my order after it’s placed?

Because we work quickly to process orders, changes or cancellations depend on whether your order has already shipped. Please email us at nuts@maisiejanes.com or call us during business hours at (530) 899-7909, and our sales team will do their best to help.

Do you offer wholesale or bulk purchasing?

Yes! We’re happy to work with wholesale, bulk, or co-packing customers. Please reach out to sales@maisiejanes.com or visit our Wholesale & Bulk page for more details.

Do you offer private label services?

We do. If you’re interested, we have an initial form you can complete and email back to sales@maisiejanes.com. After reviewing it, our team will follow up with the next steps.

Where do you ship to?

We ship anywhere in the continental United States and offer free shipping on orders over $79. 

Please Note: free shipping does not apply to Alaska or Hawaii. If you’re shipping to those states, contact us for a special rate.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders ship from our Chico, CA warehouse within 48 hours. 

  • West Coast deliveries usually arrive in 2–3 business days
  • East Coast deliveries in 7–10 business days. Please note we don’t ship on weekends or holidays.

How much does shipping cost?

Orders over $79 qualify for free shipping within the continental United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii.

Free shipping applies to consumer orders only. For all other orders, shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on the weight and destination of your package. We never add extra fees or markup shipping costs.

How can I track my order?

Once your order ships, you’ll receive a tracking number by email. Click the link to see the latest status of your package.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

We don’t currently ship single-parcel orders internationally. For wholesale or bulk shipments outside the U.S., please contact us at sales@maisiejanes.com.

Can I purchase all my gift baskets in one order and have them shipped to different addresses?

At this time, each shipping address requires a separate order. If you’d like to send baskets to multiple addresses, you’ll need to place an individual order for each one. For large or corporate orders, please contact us directly at sales@maisiejanes.com or (530) 899-7909, and our team will be happy to assist.

Why don’t you ship chocolates year-round?

Because our chocolate products must be kept below 65°F to maintain their quality, we don’t ship them during the hot summer months. For more details, please see our Summer Chocolate Shipping Policy.

Can I ship a gift containing alcohol anywhere in the U.S.?

Alcohol shipping is restricted by state law, and wine and beer each have their own rules. We've listed them our here for you, but review our Alcohol Shipping Policy for full details.

What requirements apply when shipping gifts with alcohol?

All alcohol shipments must go to a physical street address (not a P.O. Box, APO, or FPO). A phone number must be included with the order, and an adult 21 years or older must be available to accept the package with a valid ID at the time of delivery.

Does the recipient need to be 21 to receive an alcohol gift?

Yes. Both Maisie Jane’s and our carriers require the recipient to be at least 21 years old. Carriers will verify age with a valid photo ID at delivery.

If I’m local to Chico, can I pick up my order instead of having it shipped?

Yes. At checkout, under the Delivery tab, select Pick Up instead of Ship. You’ll receive an email when your order is ready for pickup at our Gift Shop.

What is your return policy?

Because our products are food, we generally don’t accept returns. If you’re unhappy with your purchase, we offer a Freshness and Quality 30-Day Guarantee. 

With our Freshness and Quality 30-Day Guarantee, you have two options:

  1. A free replacement, shipped to you at no cost
  2. A full refund  

To qualify for our Freshness and Quality 30-Day Guarantee, you’ll need proof of purchase within the last 30 days.

How do I return or exchange an item?

Because our products are food, we do not accept returns or exchanges—and this policy also applies to non-food merchandise. Instead, if you’re unhappy with your purchase, we stand behind our Freshness and Quality 30-Day Guarantee.

Email sales@maisiejanes.com within 30 days of purchase, including your order number and online receipt, and we’ll start processing your refund.

If it’s simply a matter of taste, we suggest sharing the product with a friend, family member, or neighbor who might enjoy it.

How long does it take to process a refund?

Once our Food Safety Supervisor approves a refund, it will be processed within 48 hours.

Do you cover return shipping?

Because we rarely accept returns, this usually doesn’t apply. If a physical return is approved, Maisie Jane’s will cover the cost of shipping.

What if my item is damaged or incorrect?

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us immediately at nuts@maisiejanes.com so we can make it right.

Do your products come with a guarantee?

Products & Ingredients

Are your almonds pasteurized?

All almonds grown and sold in the United States, other than at a road-side stand or farmers market, must be pasteurized, as required by the FDA. This process reduces harmful microorganisms and makes almonds safer to eat. 

At Maisie Jane’s, we are committed to using only steam pasteurization. This method—exposing almonds to carefully controlled steam for a proven time and temperature—takes more time and cost, but we believe it’s the safest option for our products and for you. The more common alternative, propylene oxide (PPO), is a chemical method that the EPA warns may cause health problems if ingested in large amounts. You can trust that Maisie Jane’s never uses PPO—only pure steam pasteurization.

Are your nuts grown without pesticides?

All of our organic products are grown without pesticides. In our conventional (i.e., non-organic) orchards, we minimize chemical use by practicing Integrated Pest Management (IPM)—a method that tracks insect activity and uses beneficial insects whenever possible instead of pesticides. Because weather and growing conditions vary each year, every season brings new challenges. We continually research and apply the lowest-impact solutions to grow the healthiest, highest-quality almond crop possible.

Do I need to refrigerate Maisie Jane’s nut butters?

Refrigerating our nut butters isn’t necessary, though it can help extend shelf life. 

At room temperature, they’ll keep for up to two years. Just note that refrigeration makes the texture thicker and harder to spread. If you prefer a softer, more spreadable nut butter, store it at room temperature and give it a good stir before use to keep the oils blended.

Why does my 1-ingredient Almond Butter and Cashew Butter look or taste different from the last jar?

Because our Almond and Cashew Butters are made with just one ingredient, natural variations can occur from one jar to the next. Differences in crop year and orchard origin affect texture and flavor, and since we don’t add oils, sugars, or emulsifiers, there’s nothing to mask those subtle changes. These environmental factors give each batch its own unique character.

Why is there oil on top of my Maisie Jane’s nut butter?

At Maisie Jane’s, our 1-Ingredient nut butters are made simply from freshly roasted nuts milled to perfection—nothing else added. 

Because they’re natural, it’s normal for the oils to separate and rise to the top. Just stir the oils back in with a knife or spoon to restore the creamy texture. Avoid pouring the oil off, as this will cause the nut butter to harden. Some people also like to store their jars upside down to help minimize separation.

Why does Maisie Jane’s use glass jars instead of plastic for nut butters?

Glass jars are healthier for you and better for the environment than plastic. They can be 100% recycled, won’t end up polluting oceans or landfills, and don’t leach microplastics into your food. 

At Maisie Jane’s, we’re committed to making environmentally responsible choices whenever possible, which is why we pack our nut butters in glass. Plus, the jars are perfect for upcycling—use them to store household items, can produce from your garden, or even as charming flower vases.

Why are Maisie Jane’s nuts bagged in plastic?

At this time, there aren’t any non-plastic bag options that provide the oxygen barrier needed to preserve shelf life and freshness for our nuts. 

We continue to work with our packaging partners to explore sustainable alternatives, but food safety remains our top priority. Our packaging ensures your nuts stay protected from outside contaminants and fresh for the best, healthiest snacking experience possible.

Do your products contain allergens? Is there a risk of cross-contamination?

At Maisie Jane’s, food safety and allergen control are a top priority. We process almonds, cashews, walnuts, and hazelnuts in our own facility, and some equipment—like roasters and nut butter lines—is shared between them. To prevent cross-contamination, our team follows strict protocols: equipment is thoroughly cleaned, visually inspected, and tested for allergen proteins before the next product run. For added peace of mind, we do not process peanuts in our Maisie Jane’s facility.

Additional Allergen Notes:

  • Roasted & Flavored Nuts (Made at Maisie Jane’s): Produced in our Chico, CA facility, which does not process peanuts. However, these products are made in a plant that also processes tree nuts, milk, eggs, and soy. May contain shell pieces.
  • Chocolate & Candy Products (Made by Trusted Partners): Crafted by trusted partners who use our nuts but process them in facilities that also handle peanuts, wheat, tree nuts, milk, egg, and soy. These products contain milk and may contain wheat, peanuts, shell pieces, and other tree nuts. 

Every item includes a clear allergen statement beneath the ingredients, so you can shop with confidence.

Are Maisie Jane’s products Gluten Free?

Yes, all our products are naturally gluten free. We don’t process any items containing gluten.

Are Maisie Jane’s products Kosher?

Most Maisie Jane’s products are certified Kosher by the Earth Kosher certification process, which is congruent with Kosher Industry Standards.You can tell if your product of choice is Certified Kosher if, on the product page/product packaging, you see the Kosher symbol.

Gifts & Custom Options

Are gift baskets gift-wrapped?

We thoughtfully choose quality containers—whether wicker baskets, tins, or other creative vessels—for our themed gift baskets. Each one is filled with delicious goodies, packed with recycled crinkle, wrapped in cellophane, and finished with a bow that’s tied by hand.

Can I customize the ribbon or décor on a gift basket?

Of course! During the holiday season, our gift baskets are shown with holiday décor, but we’re happy to customize them for other occasions like birthdays or anniversaries. Just let us know in the “Notes” section at checkout, and our gift basket specialists will add a non-holiday ribbon or basket.

Can I include a personalized note with my gift?

Absolutely! At checkout, just mark “This is a gift” and type your message in the box labeled “Include the following note.” Your note will be printed on the packing slip and sent with the gift to your recipient.

Can I customize gifts for my business?

Why does my gift basket/box have a different product than the one shown in the photo?

From time to time, certain products may be unavailable due to seasonality, supply changes, or stock from our trusted partners. When this happens, we may substitute an item with one of equal or greater value to ensure your basket is filled and beautifully presented. Rest assured, substitutions are always chosen with care to match the quality and theme of the original basket.

Are the items in the Gift Shop available online?

All Maisie Jane’s products sold in our Gift Shop are also available online. However, many of the specialty items from our trusted partners—often included in our gift baskets—are only sold individually at our Gift Shop.

Our Gift Shop is open:

  • Monday–Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We’re closed on Sundays and major holidays, including Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Memorial Day.

From November through Christmas, we extend our hours to:
