Maisie Jane Hurtado

Maisie Jane is a real person; it’s not just a company ‘stage name’.  She is the founder of Maisie Jane’s and plays a very active role in Maisie Jane’s.  She is blessed with her husband and business partner, Isidro and three daughters, Isabela, Natalia and Lilia Jane.  She has a true passion for creating healthy, farm fresh products, and exploring new business opportunities.  She is grateful for the world of wonderful employees, a loving family, and the bounty of the land that surrounds her.

The Grower/Co-owner

Isidro Hurtado

Isidro, Maisie Jane’s husband, joined the company in 2002.  He met Maisie Jane while attending Chico State University.  While he practiced his degree of Construction Management for several years, he chose to get back to his roots in agriculture.  He originally grew up in the Salinas Valley, in California, where he spent his childhood working in the apricot orchards and garlic fields.  He now farms 80 acres of almonds.  He also manages the manufacturing facility for Maisie Jane’s.  He is a great asset to Maisie Jane’s and has made it possible to further expand.

The Bakers & Packagers

We are so fortunate to have a loyal crew that is responsible for the roasting, flavoring, and packaging of our products.  They all are very hard workers that take pride in their daily tasks.  We are very grateful for their work.

The Office Manager

Della Kates

Della is a true gem.  She has been with Maisie Jane’s since 2005.  She wears many hats; she isn’t your typical ‘Office Manger’.  She is a wonderful at multi-tasking, as she helps out with anything from arranging large deliveries, to answering phones and taking orders, to making large trade show coordination, (just to mention a few).  Her positive attitude and up-beat energy level, creates a terrific work environment at our office/store location.

The Basket Makers

Bobby Henry and Mary Jane Bertagna

This sister team has been with Maisie Jane’s the longest. Bobby is Maisie Jane’s Aunt and Mary Jane’s sister.  She too has a long history, starting working with Maisie Jane’s in 1998 and has contributed so much.  She is the senior Basket decorator.  She also helps with the designing of the gift baskets and shares her creative side by helping with product merchandising in our store.  Over the years she has also done bookkeeping and assisted in marketing at trade shows.  What a women she is!

Mary Jane, Maisie Jane’s mother, has of course, been involved with a supportive and advisory role from day one when Maisie Jane was seventeen and experimenting with almond flavors in her kitchen.  She has since taken a much more formal role.  She helps manage the Maisie Jane’s store front in Chico.  She is also the Senior Basket designer.  Maisie Jane’s feels so blessed in having this positive working relationship with her talented and savvy mother.

The Store Staff

Donna Roney, Ingrid Sullivan, and Mary Catherine Parreira

These three are the friendly ones that will help assist you in the Maisie Jane’s store front.  They are experts at advising you to ‘that perfect gift’, as they know all our products inside and out.  They all have agriculture backgrounds too, which makes your shopping experience even more enjoyable with their knowledge they can share about all our ‘farm fresh’ foods!  Their individual unique personalities and talents makes for a vibrant shopping experience at Maisie Jane’s.
