Maisie Jane’s is an active business in ‘giving-back’ to its community. Maisie Jane’s feels blessed by all the support the community has given her company through the years and is happy to support the following organizations, (among many others), with donations, volunteer time, and other aid requested.
The mission of WTC: is to assist and support people with disabilities as they achieve increased independence in work and leisure and to enhance the quality of their lives. This organization holds a special place in Maisie Jane’s heart. Maisie Jane’s employed a crew ranging from four to ten people for four years in the early years in business. Currently, Maisie Jane’s hires the WTC to make their wood gift and display products. Maisie Jane’s has found this group of people to be hard working, sincere, and very skilled.
CWA's basic role is to help its members develop the knowledge and skills necessary to convey the mutual benefits of a vibrant agricultural economy and healthy rural communities to those who are in positions to impact the future of agriculture in California. Maisie Jane Hurtado is an active member of the Northern Sacramento Valley Chapter where she was Co-President from 2007-2009. This chapter has made education in agriculture their number one objective and Maisie Jane’s is a strong supporter of this cause.

For more than 50 years, the College of Agriculture at California State University, Chico has educated agricultural leaders who have the theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and decision–making ability that allows them to excel in their chosen career. Their integrated agricultural curriculum and remarkable access to hands–on education on their 800-acre University Farm create a fertile learning environment for their students and the agriculture industry they serve.
Think Local, Chico! is an alliance of independent, locally owned businesses, service providers, community organizations and individuals committed to this region, its unique identity and quality of life. Their mission is to encourage citizens to exchange, locally, as many goods and services as possible in order to make our community a healthy, vibrant and more prosperous place to live. Maisie Jane is on the Board of Directors, representing the agriculture/processors sector, which is an important block in the success of a well balanced, self sustaining local economy.
